SECRET SOCIETY:
Kale is contracted with a daemon that made a pact with her father Paragus. Considering a pact with a daemon involves giving something up, he convinced the daemon that she was what he was giving up as if she were precious to him - in truth, he simply used her in his own stead because he feared the ramifications of being contracted with a demon. Essentially, she was to become a weapon for his own use.
POWERS:
Kale is contracted with a daemon fueled by anger, hatred and rage. Its very existence spreads madness and bloodlust with its mere presence, feeding off others as it plants a simple seed within them and watches their rage grow and blossom into something akin to ripened fruit it can devour whole to increase its power.
Kale herself manifests the power granted to her through this link by simply becoming angry enough (think the hulk). If she is riled up to a certain point, be it through stress, anxiety or any other appropriate trigger, the link between herself and her daemon activates and increases her powers.
In her base state, Kale's power is heavily suppressed and she isn't anything remarkable. She's definitely stronger than the average person, but generally speaking she won't stand out much among her peers at school. This is how she is on an every day basis.
When her power manifests itself as mentioned above however, Kale undergoes a transformation. This represents the initial link between Kale and her daemon activating; it gives her a tremendous boost in power - strength, speed and durability - but drives her into a state of bloodlust. She'll recklessly attack whoever triggered her heightened state of emotion, turning her attention equally towards anyone who tries to interfere.
If she remains in that transformed state for long enough however, she enters her true form, so it's as if the previous form is more of a transitional phase rather than the end result of her powers manifesting. In this final form, Kale grows to about 10ft tall with the bulk to match. In terms of powers, it isn't too dissimilar from her previous form, buffing her strength, durability and speed to even greater heights, but with the added benefit of granting her the ability to discharge energy from her mouth as a highly concentrated beam of destructive energy. On top of this, whereas before she was focused on the target of her anger, in this state Kale will indiscriminately attack everyone around her. If left in this form for too long, she'll burn herself out and be forced out of the transformation which will also leave her unconscious. The amount of time she spends out cold will depend on how much she exerted herself in this state.
That being said, if she trains hard enough in trying to master her dormant powers and awaken them without losing it, she'll be able to assume a more controlled form. It won't be as strong as her berserk form simply because the daemon contracted to her wouldn't allow her to access her powers without him benefiting from it, but the form would be somewhere between her initial transformation and her berserk one in terms of powers, which would allow her to become less of a liability to the people around her. It'll also complement her character arc so everyone wins.
